IFEAA responds to House of Lords consultation on methane

IFEAA has submitted a response to a House of Lords consultation on methane, sharing the team’s understanding of methane emissions and their abatement. IFEAA’s response highlighted new evidence that the scale of emissions from manure management systems is likely to be underestimated by Government assessments of emissions calculated using IPCC methodology. The team then detailed methods to abate these emissions in agriculture, such as covered slurry lagoons and anaerobic digestion, sharing insight into barriers to uptake of these technologies.
